"Taking Off" Think of a slightly older, male Bridget Jones… This is the story of an ex-RAF fighter pilot turned village headmaster, whose midlife crisis in the 1970s leads him into a number of hilarious escapades with different women. The story is told from the viewpoint of the central character looking back from an old people’s home in New Zealand in 2020. This is a comic novel with a difference. It’s funny, and it will appeal to all intelligent adults (as long as they’re not too politically correct).
