October and Everything After

Fall 1993. Dennis O'Rourke begins his sophomore year of high school very happy with his life. He still has his best friend and his girlfriend to hang out with and he's generally well-liked in school. But then, his best friend moves away, his girlfriend breaks up with him, and the school bully starts hassling him. These sudden changes add unwanted adversity to his life. Then he meets Justin Rowe, the Kurt Cobain-worshipping front man for the grunge cover band, the Stoned Angels. Through Justin, Dennis gets a new group of friends as well as a new love interest, in the form of punk rock "grrrl" Valerie Cochrane. Just when Dennis gets comfortable with his new friends, Kurt Cobain's suicide has a terrible effect on the group, most notably Justin, and Dennis soons finds that it's up to him to try his best to keep the group together and keep Justin from going over the edge.
