'Blooms' gives a truly refreshing insight into the mind of a traveller confronted with new places, cultures and people. Francesca Cacciarru's poems are so honest and really take the reader on a journey. Having been to many of the places described in 'Blooms', I completely related to the highs and lows of travelling through India. The author is a graduate of London Metropolitan University, and you can read more about her here: www.londonmet.ac.uk/news/latest-news/2012/march/francesca-blooms.cfm
Cacciarru’s writing style is refreshing and unconventional. She throws out of the window the old school poetic stiffness and playfully flirts with the more outspoken attitude typical of prose. The result is phenomenal. It allows the reader to actively open the door of each stanza, gaze at the surroundings and find in himself his own personal interpretation.
this book really took me to places in the maps. i am from myanmar and while i read i could visualise amazing places that are so familiar but which i never visited. those beautiful words shared the experiences of the author.
