Lloyd Dowling, a master boat builder, dreamed of sailing the Mediterranean in his retirement years. His plan? To follow the trails of the ancient Greek champion Odysseus - the key character in Homer’s Odyssey and someone Dowling would come to understand.
But there was just one change in plans: his son Jeff, a tech leader in California who has come to question his own life, asks to come along for the journey.
Two differing generations having to work through how ancient wisdom is passed on to the modern era, Lloyd and Jeff encounter their own series of events that ultimately come to shape their relationship and teach them the value of family, history, love, adventure, and ultimately the purpose for living.
Ithaca is a story as old as Homer and as current as today’s technological revolution. It is a story of two men determined to deepen their relationship and better humanity in the process. An ageless tale with modern ramifications.
