French Language Tutorial (2nd ed.) is an updated vocabulary and grammar review of the French language that has been featured on www.ielanguages.com for over a decade.
The second edition includes more standard and informal vocabulary that is often missing from textbooks, sample sentences for basic communication, and cultural information for expatriates moving to or living in France. Cross-referenced topics, an alphabetical index, as well as appendices of extended vocabulary lists and an explanation of French pronunciation for English speakers are also provided.
This print version of the tutorial uses IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) transcriptions for all of the verb conjugations and the majority of the vocabulary lists. In addition, free mp3s to accompany the book can be downloaded at www.ielanguages.com/flt/

I found this tutorial very useful as it summarizes everything about the French language and stresses the important details you shouldn't forget. I believe that when you start studying anything, you should take a quick view of everything you'll need to study, and this book is excellent for that. For more advanced students, it's also recommended as it's a very quick source for references and examples.
Ms Wagner has produced a book that presents useful beginning French in a meaningful manner. Not only is this book a good teaching tool, but it's a great reference, too, especially for colloquialisms, slang, etc. I have been using the Foreign Service Institute's old text available online for free, so Wagner's work is like a breath of fresh air in the stagnant world of 1960s diplomats. In addition, the author offers accompanying mp3 files as free downloads along with virtual audio flashcards on her site. Jennifer Wagner's earnest and unfussy presentation coupled with her experience and scholarship make this book a great investment for any student or teacher of beginning French. I highly recommend it.
