Excited to announce that this novel is now officially "IndieReader Approved." The following is a review by Anita Locke for IndieReader (courtesy of IndieReader, July 18, 2014) Thirty-eight-year-old Garry Danzlo has everything a person would want that comes with being a famous musical celebrity. Yet success cannot heal the torment he has experienced in his childhood, let alone the most recent events of his father's suicide. Taking a long drive to escape the emotional overload leads to car accident, which leaves half of Garry's body immobile. Depressed and in need of an aide, Amanda Fields' job is to get him back into shape. But Garry has no idea that this nurse will not only bring healing to his body, but also capture his heart. Long-time writer but first-time novelist Judith Kohnen has fashioned an endearing love story set around two people who desperately want to love again but are afraid to because of the emotionally wounds from their past. Written in third person... More > omniscient viewpoint, readers are taken to the behind-the-scenes thought processes of a whole host of interesting characters that goes well beyond Garry and Amanda, the two lovesick romantics. Among the list of protagonists is Garry's uproariously funny hyper and scheming sister Melissa; their stereotypical smothering mother, Miriam; and Nicholas, Garry's butler who is the quiet backbone of the Danzlo household. Equally interesting are the antagonists: the ever-conniving Daphne and precariously suave Eddie Chandler. Kohnen shrewdly incorporates a multitude of plot points to create narrative momentum. Amid the drama that surrounds the lovers, Kohnen keeps her storyline light by interweaving many scenes filled with comical conversational banter -- which creates an incessant tension between Garry and Amanda, amorously delectable love scenes, and juxtaposing these lighter sides with the diabolical plans to keep them apart. The first of a three-book series entitled The Mandy Story, ONE CHANCE, ONE MOMENT is a creative, light-hearted yet riveting story that is not your ordinary love story, and is destined to be a romantic classic.< Less

This was such a lovely story! I loved the writing style of this author. I felt such a beautiful feeling when I finished it. It was hard enough putting it down and now that I'm done with it I'm almost tempted to read it again. LOL! I've never had a story affect me like this before. The characters were so well developed that I feel I grew with them as they grew. The story is about a famous musician whose life and career is destroyed after a bad car accident and how one special woman comes along and changes everything for him. She helps him through his guilt and anger and pain and teaches him how to forgive and to love. This might sound boring (because I don't know how to tell a story) but there is so much comedy and hilarious moments in this book and so many deep emotional things and so many special things that had me in a whirl of emotion that I can only say I REALLY LOVE THIS BOOK. I know I'm going to be reading this book again. It is books like this one that makes life feel hopeful... More > and worth living. I'm so glad I bought it for it's worth every penny!< Less
