Scott Mohnkern's Rune Diary was a really great idea that translated into a very useful book. By devoting most of the pages for working with runes, while providing translations from all three rune poems, this is a convenient way to learn about or read the runes. There's nothing with going to one's shelf to grab this or that volume to learn more about a reading, but Scott's book makes it very easy to cast a reading, write down the results, and make any pertinent notations. Whether your interest is simply learning the arrangement and meaning of the runic alphabet, or if you're working with them by casting and reading, the Rune Diary is an excellent resource to have at hand.
