From beginning to end the clarity and beauty flow. It is evident just how much thought and care went into every page. The honesty and emotion shine throughout the poems, photos, and short stories. They touched me as did the juxtaposed jester that peeped out from many pages with polysyllabic wit. The last story touched me the most because it revealed a thorough examination of two men's stories of growing up with a wonderful expose of their emotional and spiritual evolution. Regardless of which of his poems, photos, or short stories touches you the most, all of it touches. The writing style captures you with its unique honesty, the occasional 5 syllable words for which a dictionary is required, and the timely tongue in cheek. Not only will you want to read and re-read this book but also tell everyone you know who can appreciate such depth (or so you hope) to go buy the book.

I purchased this book not knowing what to expect. What I found astonished me. The photography eloquent, clean yet so full of depth and emotion. The suggestive writing that reveals the soul of the author William Rossoto. The book is full of poems and photography then wonderful long stories full of poise and frolic. You see a balance of the influences in his life. My favorite poem is Tick -Tock. You will get into the authors head when you read this poem. It has stayed with me and if someone ask me for the time I just might break out and lash out the poem Tick - Tock. The long stories towards the end left me wanting more. I know now that William is a genius. I laughed, felt sad and sometimes lonely, but then felt whole. I like when I can grasp the concept and ride the roller coaster of the authors expressive balance of words. Doesn't always happen. The poems are short and expose Rossoto. The stories expose his passion for excellence. I must say I didn't purchase the first book, but after... More > this one, I will. If anyone wants to talk about this book, hit me up Jennie Odom< Less
