Charles N. Olmsted, the author and illustrator, is the author and coauthor of scientific manuscripts published in the journal of Environmental Microbiology, the International Society of Microbial Ecology Journal, the Journal of Biological Chemistry, and more. He received a PhD in Molecular and Environmental Toxicology by studying electroactive bacteria at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is now a scientist working for Terragia Biofuel.
