Very much like Vince Lombardi, Dave Pushkin’s life includes football, chemistry and physics, but Dr. Pushkin didn’t move from the science classroom to the gridiron. He transitioned from playing football to a chemistry and physics career of thirty years -from the pharmaceutical industry, to biomedical research, to college/university professor. Author of approximately 200 professional writings, Dr. Pushkin’s science educational research specializes on integrated knowledge for thinking and problem-solving skill development in chemistry and physics. Dr. Pushkin remains intellectually engaged in his passions: the state of American STEM education, professional football, the conflict between collegiate sports and academics, neuromedical science, and advocacy for disabled people’s civil rights and quality of life. Dr. Pushkin's expanded and enhanced edition of his 2011 book is due out by the end of summer 2013 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Coach Lombardi's birth.
