John Agan is the Official Historian of Webster Parish, Louisiana and is an Assistant Professor of History at Bossier Parish Community College. He earned a B.A. in History, an M.Ed. in Social Studies Education and an M.A. in History from Louisiana Tech University and has been involved in teaching history for the past 20 years. He is the author of four previous books on Regional History and writes a weekly newspaper column, Echoes of Our Past, for the Minden-Press Herald. He is a native and life-long resident of Minden and Northwest Louisiana.
