About
Matthew Cecil Rhodes

I was a member of the first battalion the Devon and Dorset regiment, serving in Germany, Canada and the summer tour of Bosnia in 1995. I returned to Germany from Bosnia and had a horrific accident. I was in a coma for ten weeks, and when i finally awoke I was blind, paralyses down my right hand side, had a very bad short term memory and had a lack of emotions to name but a few. I received all these disablement through brain damage where i had lost between 1/4 to a 1/3 of my brain. The main area of my brain damage was in the centre left of my brain so I could have no operation to ease the pressure. Even though my body wasn't found until three to four hours after my accident I had to be put on a breathing machine as I could not breath by myself! But even though I was badly brain damage, I still continued with my life, not letting my disability take me down! So please read my story and be amazed at what i achieved above my disability and how i have never let myself down!
