More > have a strong Christian heritage are even stronger. However, as the scriptures show, those who God uses are not super stars but ordinary people who He gets hold of and uses for His glory. Henry and Mary were two such people who lived out their Christian walk through various trials and challenges but who came through with a testimony of the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness to them. The family tree in the appendices shows how large their family has become. Your contributions and memories, along with our own, build a composite picture of who they were to each of us. Zipra and Zanla War Stories By Preller Geldenhuys
eBook (PDF): $0.00
This anthology of short war stories from eye-witnesses gives an insight into war experiences from opposing sides in the Rhodesian-Zimbabwe conflict 1965 to 1980. The Harare Sunday Mail conducted a... More > series of interviews during March and April 2018. This publication records and prints the bulk of the interviews that were posted on the internet. It is conservatively estimated that the Chimurenga war claimed well over 50,000 lives, albeit mainly civilians. It is not uncommon for combatants to mix up times and places - albeit those specific events did indeed occur. It is a fact that Zipra and Zanla clashed more amongst themselves (versus against the Rhodesian Security Forces). Death notices testify to that fact. The author estimates that it will take another generation of historians to remove or correct biases still very evident in latter-day tales.< Less

I am a New Zealand South African that lived with racism and 'separate development' in Africa for nearly 70 years. The Coloureds in South Africa are a happy lot. The "coloureds" in New... More > Zealand are not a happy lot. They thrive on the Grievance Industry, created in 1975, that is bleeding New Zealand dry - a land truly blessed with 'milk and honey'. I am indebted to those New Zealanders who have contributed to the writing of this book and those who gave me copyright permission to quote them verbatim (in order to present 'best evidence' and avoid misinterpretation with Chinese whispers). Thank you. The first Governor of New Zealand, Captain William Hobson, dated his founding document on the 4th August 1840 and greeted the signatories with the words "Now we are one" people. Not two, but one. It appears to the writer that instead of the "One" envisaged, we are making One plus One equal Three - Whites + Maori = Coloureds?< Less

The Gables in Durban was the authors home for ten years. Being the playground for South Africa it was the best place to retire once one's working life ended. Durban's tropical weather was more... More > pleasurable than polar Cape Town - the only other retirement city considered. The Esplanade building faced the harbour with its massive 'container terminal' reputed to be the largest in the Southern hemisphere, in its day. We witnessed the construction and further development of the vehicle terminal building and its resultant increase of vehicles being exported and imported - departing/arriving Durban by road and rail traffic. We witnessed the transformation of the old the old railway 'Workshop' into a modern shopping center. The beach-front Marine Parade was also modernized during our stay in this Natal coastal resort city.< Less

Hongi Hika (1772 - 1828) and Hone Heke (1807 - 1849) were two fascinating Maori warriors. Hongi was instrumental in convincing Samuel Marsden to establish the first mission station at Hohi –... More > Oihi Bay and the second mission station at Kerikeri. Hone Heke married Hongi’s daughter and was one of the first Māori chiefs to sign the controversial Waitangi Treaty. Both travelled to England, bought weapons and fought wars. Hongi died from wounds received in battle and Hone died from tuberculosis. My son-in-law Grahame Jelley and daughter Renene live in Kerikeri, Bay of Islands, and introduced us to this historical rich and fascinating area, prompting the production of the Cook and Marsden, and Hongi Hika and Hone Heki accounts. The vast volumes of books written on these famous characters is best left with the learned authors. My account is thus a pictorial presentation to complete a simple puzzle which is indeed much more complex that what my writings suggest.< Less
