Victor Lee Austin is Theologian-in-residence at Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue in New York City. A priest-scholar, his background is in both the parish ministry and the academic world.
At Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, Pennsylvania, Father Austin was assistant professor of religious studies, philosophy, and theology. He has also taught on the adjunct faculty of Marist College, Mount St. Mary College, the General Theological Seminary, and Fordham University.
A priest in the Episcopal Church, Father Austin was rector of the Church of the Resurrection, Hopewell Junction, N.Y. It was in that suburban parish that he wrote his first book, "A Priest's Journal." He has also been curate of Zion Church in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and priest-in-residence of Holy Trinity in Hollidaysburg, Pa. He is a graduate of St. John’s College (the great books school), the General Theological Seminary, and Fordham University (Ph.D. 2002).
