I have lived in many places in my life including New York, New Jersey, Boston, Maryland, Germany, England and Pennsylvania. I also spent an extensive amount of time in Ireland. I have lived in New Hampshire since 2012. I spent more years in Maryland than any other place, so many of my stories and photographs are inspired from my years there. The photography book, "Maryland, My Home," is inspired from places around the state of Maryland that are special to me for one reason or another. I retired my 2019 calendar of some of my favorite places in New Hampshire. I may publish another one in the future. All of the electronic publications are short stories written under my pen name, Carmel M. Portillo, except for "Heart and Soul: Inspirational Stories and Essays" and "Twists and Turns: An Eclectic Collection of Stories," which are compilations. "Swept Under the Rug" and "Captive" (written under my maiden name) are novelettes.
