Sensei Donald Hayhurst has been a martial artist since the age of 12. He started first in Yoshinkai Aikido and Doshin Kan Karate, then has further expanded his studies to various Korean and Chinese martial arts. He finally went to Okinawa Japan in 1990 and began to study under Shian Toma the headmaster of Okinawa Seidokan where he has made his final home and choose to propagate this little known style. While committed to the Toma Dojo he also explored other arts such as Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido, Kenjutsu, Ikebana, and Chanoyou. After 34 years of study, Mr. Hayhurst is finally stepping out to be an author in the subject of Okinawa Seidokan to honor his instructor and preserve his ways.
