I'm Christine... like the car. I am a queer Latina from New York City. Writing is my passion and my therapy. I have been writing poetry since it was first introduced to me as a serious form of self-expression when I was 13. I usually kept my poems to myself, only sharing very select works with a very limited crowd but as I grew older and started to learn more about the legacies of Zora Neale Hurston and Langston Hughes, I felt it was extremely important to put myself out there. Queer women of colour rarely appear in history books and, since I believe it is partly my responsibility to change that, I know that making my voice heard is a major step in that direction. By publishing my work, I am giving people like me the option to read something that they might relate to better than anything else they've found.
