Althia Ellis is the founder and president of Thompson-Ellis Consulting, LLC (TEC), located in Davie, Florida. Prior to founding TEC, Ellis served 14 years in the transit industry managing paratransit and fixed-route transportation programs and services. She has extensive experience in program planning and contract administration as well as training and policy development. As a consultant, she provides professional writing, editing, and on-site training services for businesses in various industries, governmental agencies, and non-profit organizations. Ellis is an adjunct instructor at Broward College where she teaches Business Writing. She is a member of the Florida Freelance Writers Association (FFWA), and board chair for the Minority Chamber of Commerce, (MCC). Ellis received the Minority Woman Entrepreneur of the Decade award from the Minority Chamber of Commerce in 2010. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Nova Southeastern University.
