About
Terence Park

Park grew up in Burnley with no real intention of writing. This was just as well because when he started in 2009, he realised just how hard it was. The next part of his story is he wrote 3 chapters to test a novel writing program; at 8,000 words the writing bug bit. In 2015 he published Burnley, a selection of essays about his home town, with a focus on its former grammar school. Other works: • The Tau Device (2016). This takes the view that humanity needs a helping hand to get into space and looks at the urge to colonise, terraforming, alien culture, the perils of instantaneous travel and how space newbies can climb the ladder of galactic power and influence. • Silt from Distant Lands (2016) is a collection of poetry taking on the referendum, the collapse of Golden Age Islam, barking dogs, God and the Big Bang. • The Slow Holocaust and other stories (2016) includes a very British dystopia and an account of the last library on Earth. • The Turning Stone (2019) is YA Fantasy set in an alternate world: the powerful spell that binds humanity into one species starts to unravel. Park is a widower and his four children are grown.
