Carolina Delburgo is a Jewish woman born in Cairo, Egypt. Her late father Léon was Italian and her late mother, Annette Cohen was Greek born,  both of them were born in Cairo. In 1956 – she tells - after the War for Suez Canal, Dad was picked up at night-time  and put in jail. For two months, confined in our home, we didn't know anything about him. Only on board of a Greek ship, sailing in open sea to Italy, we saw him again, running out from the hold of the ship, with other released prisoners, all freed again. Thanks to the Italian Consulate in  Cairo,  the family was together again, but we had no economic means whatsoever. Neither we  brought goods from our home, neither from my father's big former company, nor  from my mother's job . Simply kicked out from Egypt, as we "nude" as we were. We arrived in Brindisi at the dawn of29th November 1956.
