Chapelgate Publishing grew out of Isaacs Consulting & Development, Inc., which was founded in 1985 in Houston, Texas, to produce both drilling software and Christian mass media communications products. In 1986 the Isaacs purchased Evins Mill in Smithville, Tennessee, renaming it Chapelgate, till the early 1990s. Today, Angel Isaacs lives in Austin, Texas and uses Chapelgate as a writing hideaway. All of the books and media products are based on Church of Christ beliefs and in the sacredness of God's Word as found in the Holy Bible and the original Hebrew and Greek scriptures.
