Growing-up on a farm in a rural North Carolina, I join the Cub Scouts and later became a Boy Scouts. I have been a scout for 3 plus years. I know the fascination both boys and girls have with survival in the wilderness, and I bring authentic survival techniques into play as Tyler and Kylie treks through the mountains. My book fits into the market's interest in outdoor survival as well as offering a book that empowers kids to use their own initiative in facing problems. My book is filled with thrilling, action packed scenes, and will go over well with readers who thirst for action. I dedicate this novel (Escaping the Rain) to kids who have been bully by other kids, and they had the courage to stand face-to-face with their tormentors (bullies).
