Jacqueline Paizis
Jacqueline Paizis (@slenderbeak) was born in Hythe Kent and now divides her time between England with family, friends and cat and Greece with pretty much the same. The Cleaner of Kastoria is Jacqueline's first novel based on extensive research she conducted with Greek women who fought in the Civil War of 1947-49. Abandoning her doctorate Jacqueline embarked on a novel using vignettes of the historical detail given to her by these courageous women out of which came the protagonist of the novel - Dina. Jacqueline is also the author of a number of short stories including 'Anti-Valentine' published by Centum Press and 'Safi' in Vol 2 of Stories for Homes supporting the Shelter charity for homelessness. Jacqueline's second novel, A Sea Change is now available in paperback from Amazon. Set in the contemporary Greece of 2010 A Sea Change follows the character of Lorna, a young Englishwoman, who is shaken out of her complacency by the Greek crisis.
