Denise Sutherland is an Australian puzzle and non-fiction writer. She has written over seven puzzle books, including "The Canberra Puzzle Book", "Solving Cryptic Crosswords For Dummies", and "Cracking Codes and Cryptograms For Dummies". Denise was born with hip dysplasia, and has put her lifetime of experience to good use in the patient's guide coauthored with Dr Sophie West. She also has neurosarcoidosis. She is passionate about science, evidence-based medicine, and English. Denise is also a professional graphic designer, editor, and book indexer, so well set up to handle self-publishing single-handed. When not writing puzzles, Denise loves to read about science, knit, paint watercolours, cook, play with her chihuahuas, and read murder mysteries. She lives in Canberra, Australia, with her husband and adult children.
