Dave Luton was born in the state of Virginia in 1964 and grew up in Pensacola, Florida. He has also lived in the states of Maryland, Tennessee, North Carolina, Indiana and Michigan as well as Japan and Canada (because his father was in the military). He has a teaching license in Spanish from Old Dominion University and he did his studies abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico. He taught high school Spanish for several years in Rocky Mount and Wilson in the state of North Carolina. He received his certificate to teach English as a foreign language (CELTA) from Cambridge University in 2008, and he has published books on learning both English and Spanish, as well as a book on British English for Americans (co-written with a friend from the U.K.). He currenly lives in Spain where he works as an English teacher.
