Elena has been self-publishing comic books since forever. Besides her own stuff, most prominently collections of her Goth Scouts Comic strip, she has published boatloads of cartoons done by her students at the West Hartford Art League. There's also a terrific book that was written by Richard Steier, her father-in-law, who decided at the young age of 93 to pen an autobiography. She's also published what may very well be the first comic book by a mother/son team, BioHazard, written by her son Andrew and illustrated by her very own self. If you like politics, pick up her book Fringe: A Cartoon History of the George Dubya Bush Years. It's educational as well as fun. More books are on the way...
