Fabio M. Said was born in Brazil and lives in Germany. He has been a professional translator since 1993 and has gathered extensive experience mostly as a legal and financial translator for German to Portuguese and English to Portuguese. While in Brazil, he was a sworn translator for German to Portuguese in 2002-2003. Several book translations of his - within subjects areas such as Philosophy, Social Sciences, Environment - have been published in Brazil. A member of translators' associations in the U.S. and Germany, he has been active in helping the general public understand what a translator does and what challenges face the translating profession. He is also a social media enthusiast and has written over 1,000 articles for Fidus Interpres, a successful trilingual translation blog that has reached over 1 million unique visitors and over 1.5 million page views since it started in 2008.
