My research for the past twenty-five years has been Pacific Coast cartography, ethnology, topography of Nehalem Bay and surrounding areas, focusing on 16th as well as 15th and 17th century surveying methods. I would challenge you to find anyone who has written more or studied more and continues to explore the historical record offered as the proof that Francis Drake landed in Oregon.
3. The new information contained in my research is the Wayne Jensen Collection. I inherited his library in 2005 when Jensen passed away. Jensen was the former Director of the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum for 27 years whose archival collection consists of local newspapers articles, books, pamphlets, facsimiles, maps, and photographs. The 1982 OSU Thesis of Phil Costaggini and R.J. Shultz’s “Survey of Artifacts at Neahkahnie Mountain, Oregon” concludes its a 16th century..
