Award-winning journalist Ginny Friedlander Fite, author of the moving and laugh-out-loud funny book on aging, I Should Be Dead by Now, is a graduate of Rutgers University in NJ and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. A chapbook of her earlier poems, The Last Thousand Years, was published by Loyola College's The Charles St. Press in Baltimore.
Trained in Poetry Therapy at the Poetry Therapy Institute of Maryland and in alternative healing methods at the School for Women Healers, Fite founded a creative writing program called Writercizing™ which she delivered for several years as a lecturer at Frederick Community College.
In The Pearl Fisher, Fite has noted the world around her with the careful diligence of a biographer. Her poems are often snapshots of the moment, capturing thoughts and emotions as if they were landscapes.
