So in the middle of four hurricanes we packed up and moved suitcases, boxes, and eventually cats from coastal Florida to inland Britain. And I wrote about it every Wednesday.

Parker: “Yeah, but every Wednesday…?!”

On Christmas, 2002, I wrote, “As of tomorrow,
I will no longer be employed full-time.”
And so began a full year of blogs, posted on blogger.com from Wednesday, December 25, 2002, through Wednesday, December 24, 2003. Planned as a chronicle of an unemployed academic, it evolved to include My Irish Husband Tony, a wedding in France, two kittens, the Bahamas, family photos, and James Joyce.
Taken together they chronicle a pretty interesting year. I hope you enjoy reading them. I sure enjoyed writing them.
