So in the middle of four hurricanes we packed up and moved suitcases, boxes, and eventually cats from coastal Florida to inland Britain. And I wrote about it every Wednesday.

On Christmas, 2002, I wrote, “As of tomorrow,
I will no longer be employed full-time.”
And so began a full year of blogs, posted on blogger.com from Wednesday, December 25, 2002, through Wednesday, December 24, 2003. Planned as a chronicle of an unemployed academic, it evolved to include My Irish Husband Tony, a wedding in France, two kittens, the Bahamas, family photos, and James Joyce.
Taken together they chronicle a pretty interesting year. I hope you enjoy reading them. I sure enjoyed writing them.

Welcome to my Gypsy Teacher store!
In summer 2002 My Irish Husband Tony and I were privileged to sail on the Semester at Sea voyage to Europe, and I began blogging about our trips. When Tony and I and the cats moved to the UK in 2004, I created another blook about our experiences in our first year here.
Currently, I teach public relations on dry land at Birmingham [UK] City University. When I had my own PR company in the States, I developed 'Hands On Pubic Relations' for the workshops that I held for small business owners and non-profit organizations.
All are available here as downloads and paperbacks.
My other site, www.lulu.com/suchfriends, features my MBA thesis, Manager as Muse: A Case Study of Maxwell Perkins' Work with F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway and Thomas Wolfe. This led me to research other early 20th century writers in salons. My blogs about them are posted at www.suchfriends.wordpress.com and updated @SuchFriends.
