At present, I'm the family historian, and as those who were our parent's WW2 generation pass, the collection of memorabilia grows. We have five Tri-Fold Flags in total, a final honor to four combat veterans of land, sea and air, and one nurse who cared for the wounded. At the urging of a crewman with the Collings Foundation to document the often neglected but invaluable service and hardships under which the service crews labored, this book, 'Keep 'Em Flying', was created from Uncle Will Heberling's collection of Fifth Army Air-Force photo's and related materials. Uncle Will had stored over 200 negatives, which still were good as new, giving a rich overview of some of the leading Squadron's planes, notably B-17, B-24's of the Jolly Rogers 90th Bomb Group, P-39, P-40 P-47, native life, camp conditions, Philippine invasion, and the total destruction of Manila. May this volume be of some help to those researching what their Airdrome Service family members experienced.
