Washington, D.C. native Herbert Borkland in 1963 became the first American teenager to host his own TV show (Emmy-winning “Teens”). He took a degree in English Literature from the University of Virginia. He is an international award-winning screenwriter (God of War, 1998 Houston International Film Festival first-place Gold Award) who also authored 1993's prime-time HBO premier Honor & Glory. Starting on ESPN-TV, Borkland hosted “Black Belts” from 1996 – 1999 while, in 1997, becoming an Inside Kung-Fu magazine Hall of Fame cover story feature writer. His “dangerous” novels DOG$ and A Crime Not To Try - A Sixties Romance are available on Amazon. He has authored over three hundred magazine and newspaper articles, opinion columns, and popular essays. His blog (herbork.com) is read in 74 countries. A Crime Not To Try is his seventh novel.
