John Pippy is graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland (BSc & MSc) and the University of Guelph (PhD). Upon retirement, he decided to embrace a lifelong interest in Egyptology with research emphasizing similarities he had noticed between the judgment scene in the Book of Revelation and that in the Egyptian Book of the Dead. On close inspection, he found many more similarities - so many in fact, that he decided to investigate the matter in detail. The results of his investigation were both surprising and dramatic. There were simply too many similarities between the Book of Revelation and the religious beliefs of the ancient Egyptians for them to be coincidental. Indeed, it soon became obvious that the two sources were very closely linked so he decided to publish his findings as an academic treatise. His book is fully referenced to enable critical assessment critical assessment of his findings by Egyptologists and others interested in ancient religions.
