Initially trained as a painter (BA from Trinity University in Studio Art and MA from Eastern Illinois University in Painting), Kreg Yingst turned his attention to the blockprint in the mid 1990’s after discovering the graphic novels of Lynd Ward and Frans Masereel. In 2003 he quit his teaching position to pursue a life-long dream of becoming a full-time artist. Two years later he founded Starving Artist Books as a means to help support orphanages and charities around the world.
He has illustrated numerous books, and his works can be seen in selected galleries and art fairs, as well as on-line at kregyingst.com
