James Kenneth Rosemond’s love of the ocean, and specifically the North Carolina coast began when he was born in Wilmington, NC at the end of the summer of 1958. This love began early in the summer, even though he did not officially come into this world until the very end.. “That baby is never going to come” the patrons would say to my mother, bronze from a pregnant summer in the sun, “it is fried to your back bone.”

50 years and a life full of diverse experiences later, James is finally living his dream. Having survived a full fledged mid life crisis he wrote and published "Hiding on the Bottom", an anecdotal and humorous look at his early years of scuba diving. Continuing his midlife crisis, he took another huge step and became a Coast Guard credentialed Captain and started the scuba diving operation, Tortuga Charters.

Work has begun on the sequel to "Hiding on the Bottom" and should be available here on Lulu early in 2012.
