In 2003, her poem "No One Knows Me" was featured in the "Colors of Life" anthology, by the International Library of Poetry. Highsmith's "No One Knows Me" was also interpreted via spoken word on Jazz artist Jimmie Highsmith Jr.'s CD, entitled "Jacquin" in 2004. MoodMakers Bookstore honored her as one of their featured poets in their 2006 "Poetry On The Wall". Her poem, "From Whence We Came", received the Poem of Distinction honor. Lu's much-anticipated book of poetry, "Vicissitudes: The Ups and Downs of Life" was published in 2008. In January, 2009 she was featured in Minority Reporter's "Face to the Name". Lu was also featured in the Democrat and Chronicle's "Women to Watch" series in April, 2009. Her second book of poetry, "Ascension into Love" was published August, 2010. Lu co-founded CSWA (Culture Starts With Art) Poets. 2008-2018, co-hosted the successful "Flowetic Rhythms" Open Mic in Henrietta, NY 2013: founded Roc Bottom Slam Poets 2016: Member, We All Write
