Michael Lawrence Maguire is a marketing analyst who specialises in business positioning and brand development. Born in Belfast in 1948, he was educated in Kano and Lagos, Nigeria and Dublin. In a 40 year career, he has worked and lived in Europe, and the United States. He spent his first decade in management positions in national companies and multinationals, and the second in public agencies involved in business development. For the last 20 years, he has worked in management consultancy, providing strategic marketing and business positioning advice, and guidance to many leading enterprises. A frequent columnist and commentator on international marketing and business development, he lists his hobbies as history, public speaking, and people watching.
