I love stories. I love to create worlds children can escape into again and again and again. My imperfect characters struggle and learn and grown, and their experiences gently nudge readers toward maturity. In telling their adventures, I hope I might pass on my love for story. In creating something beautiful, I hope I might pass on my love for literature. Though I write material appropriate for younger readers, a well-written story is a well-written story. In fact, many a grown-up has applauded my work and asked, "Why is this just for kids?" I am a former elementary teacher.
