A retired librarian, archivist and British Council consultant, I have published extensively on American merchant seamen in France, especially those held prisoner by Napoleon, and on French genealogical research. I have been writing The French Genealogy Blog for more than fifteen years and have published a number of those blog posts as booklets. When I lived in Brazil, I wrote and illustrated some children's picture books.
