About Kathy Lynn Jorgensen Williams

I am an urban transplant into a rural place. I have been in Cumberland County Kentucky since 1985. I came here in search of intentional community. I found creative neighborhood instead. I like it here.

I have a big imagination which includes anticipating a major healing of our society and the people in it. This is about being our authentic selves. I think our nation has an authentic self, and we are not yet expressing it. Building the authentic USA from the citizen level is a lovely idea to me. It fits with my grand imagination.

Another word for the study of ethics could be civics. Civics looks through the lens of our identity as citizens. What rights and responsibilities do citizens have?

To identify rights, we go directly to the US Constitution. The First Amendment in the Bill of Rights is a good place to start. To name responsibilities - I would say - go to the same place. We have a right to speak, we have a responsibility to speak. We have a right to publish, we have a responsibility to publish. We have a right to get together with others of like purpose and collectively act, we have a responsibility to do the same.
