Mudkiss Fanzine publishes their second book of interviews. “Reminiscent of a telephone conversation at 2am between old... More > friends, Mudkiss has a feminine, conversational quality yet they are collating a cultural dossier that is both glossy and ephemeral. There is no time-line in what they do, conjuring pop history alongside punk mythology and contemporary chronicles as they zigzag between interviews and decades holding the threads of biographies like a softly spun web. “ Nina Antonia – July 2009 < Less

Melanie Smith - Webmaster/Editor/photographer/occasional reviewer/interviewer - North West
Mel opened the gates to the Mudkiss empire in the summer of 2008 after the original Myspace collaboration with Lorraine. Mel is no stranger to musical history, having explored a range of exciting chapters, from '75 Northern soul to teenage Bowie/Roxy chick, a wild '77 punk, a vibrant ‘New Romantic’. Later a hint of the Glam scene, a dash of rock, a touch of rave, and a trip around the indie circuit. Mel is still on a musical voyage, when time permits she reviews gigs, checks out new bands & photographs it all. Let’s not forget interviewing, editing the web site & overseeing the networking sites. Mel possesses an eclectic taste in music, and you’ll most certainly find her front row at any gig, with camera in hand. Photography has now taken over and can be found editing her 'Mudkiss Photography' portfolio. So, I guess you could say she is the Boss Lady and a jack of all trades!
