Dr Paul Howard-Jones specialises in interdisciplinary research aiming to improve the theory and practice of education by drawing on neuroscience. His published work spans education, philosophy, psychology and fundamental neuroscience research. His recent book "Introducing Neuroeducational Research" (Routledge) is providing the basis for a new field of enquiry that can help bridge the gap between neuroscience and education. He is a member of the UK's Royal Society working group on Neuroscience and Education. He is a passionate contributor to general debate in this area, within educational, scientific and public arenas. He co-ordinates the NeuroEducational Research Network (NEnet: www.neuroeducational.net) and the Centre for Psychology and Learning in Context (CPLiC) at the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol, UK. His research work is grounded by his earlier experiences of working as a secondary school teacher, and by many subsequent years of training teachers.
