I am proud to say I am an East Texan having lived all my life in the eastern part of the state. The ancestors I have traced all were born, lived, or died in Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, or North Carolina thus making me a true son of the South. I have a life-long interest in history and writing. I am a retired high school teacher of journalism, history, and English. I have written three family history books and an East Texas libraries research guide and have a heightened interest in more family research. I am currently newsletter editor for the Wood County, Texas Genealogical Society and webmaster for the WCGS (TX) Bulletin (woodtxgene.com) and vice-president of the society.
