Phillip Mellor was born in 1982 in Leeds, West Yorkshire and has been writing poetry since 1998. In 2004 The United Press published his poem The Moment in their anthology Still Life and again in 2005 in Life’s Tapestry. After a series of five privately published collections between the years of 2001-2007 he released Still Growing (2007) his first fully realised collection of poetry. Since then he has had his poems published in Papercut and The South Wales Evening Post and has gone on to release five more collections: Conditioned by the System (2009), MoonJar (2010) Bones and Broken Hearts (2011) Seasons of Distraction (2012) Lights From The Lowlands (2014). In 2016 he will release is seventh poetry collection when he publishes Other Silent Days.
