Robert has a Master of TESOL, a BA in China Studies, and a Teaching Degree, as well as a Diploma of Journalism and has been teaching in the ESL industry for many years. He is especially familiar with China and Chinese students and has spent a lot of time in Shanghai in recent years. He started out as a Foreign Language Student himself in Beijing in 1984, studying at the the First Foreign Language Institute, now a part of Beijing University.
While there are many good books on the market to assist students and teachers alike, Robert has tried to make his first text book, Academic English Course Book both a syllabus and a course study guide for students. Teachers of ESL will often find themselves in situations where there are no resources to help outline a semesters work, and Robert has set about solving this problem - for himself and for others.
Robert also intermittently publishes an Academic Journal, The Australia-Asia Language Journal, and invites Academic Contributions
