Descent: A Look Inside is a collection of poetry, song lyrics, and haiku. It includes an epic twelve-part poem, Hunter; several pieces published in various works; and some of his best (and, admittedly, worst) songwriting. Some of his works are inspired by love and loss and family and emotion, and others are inspired by his love for fantasy novels, including the works of David Eddings, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Stephen R. Donaldson. Others are inspired by the pop metal music of the late 80s. Still others are inspired by his time engaging in live poetry readings in Harvard Square in Cambridge. A thoroughly enjoyable read!
