Robert T. Wood grew up in Northern California. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese Language and a Master of Arts in East Asian Languages and Literature, specializing in Teaching Japanese as a Second Language, from the University of Hawaii. He is proficient in the Japanese language and taught Japanese as a hobby for many years. Mr. Wood has essentially spent his whole adult life studying Japanese language, history, and culture. His professional background is law enforcement in which he has 36 years of experience at both the local level as well as at the federal level. After retiring as a special agent for a US federal law enforcement agency he spent over ten years with a global corporation as director of security for the Far East region. His expertise in security, counterintelligence, and antiterrorism operations is the basis for his publications concerning Security Management and Information Protection. Mr. Wood’s writings focus on self-improvement – whether learning about Japanese language or learning about oneself.
