Karin Bartsch
Born 1935 in Berlin/Germany, hometown Koenigsberg in former East Prussia at the Baltic Sea. Karin had to flee from there as a 9 year old child at the end of WWII together with her mother and sister and lived in eastern and western Germany after the war had ended. Karin's father was released as a POW by the Americans in 1945. Since 1984 Karin and her husband Dieter live in the USA and both aquired US citizenship in 1990. They have 3 children in Germany. Having had owned their property in N.E. Pennsylvania for 16 years, they sold it in 2000 and live in a big Recreational Vehicle now. Both traveled the entire Unites States including Alaska and some Canadian Provinces. This book was written in Arizona in 2007. The same year Karin and Dieter celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. The reader of Karin's Childhood Memories will get an impression what a war looks like experienced by civilians.
