Dr. Theresa Heinz-Brockmeyer MSPHIL MSCS MSMHC TLMHC PLMHP tCADC
The author, Dr. Theresa M. Brockmeyer (formerly Theresa M. Heinz), has held positions in computer programming and in Special Investigations. She has another side to her that is creative, including art and photography. She has photos published in books and on the Smithsonian’s website, as well as pictures in the Chicago Tribune. Theresa has been a published photographer since 1999. She has written books while pursuing a Ph.D. She is a local and National member of the American Counseling Association and the American Mental Health Counselors Association. Theresa is a counselor for mental health and substance abuse and specializes in autism, trauma with TF-CBT and EMDR, and patients with Tourette's Syndrome using CBIT. She worked at a correctional facility while finishing her counseling degree. Her goal was to rehabilitate inmates so that they can have a normal functioning life when they are released, so that they do not return to a life of crime. She is a fashion designer on the side.
