About
Lee Richards

Lee E. Richards got his thirst for the Life Protection Arts back in the 70's when he saw a Karate banner at the Y.M.C.A. He begged to train but his Mother felt it was too dangerous. He didn't give up and checked out every single book related to the arts he could find. Later he was able to get introduced to karate. In the late 80's he was introduced to the art of Taika Seiyu Oyata and trained in that, eventually directly with the man until his death in 2012. He was lucky to train from him for many years, directly training at Taika's school as well as at Taika's home He continues to train and research in the art taught by Taika and enjoys particularly the sub art of Tuite as it is a great equalizer as size doesn't matter. He is additionally a Law Enforcement Trainer, working for the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department since 1992. He runs a small dojo in Kansas City, Missouri with Tony K. Skeen called Ryushinkan Kenshukai.
